Armani

Armani is a 12.1 h liver chestnut tobiano mare, rescued in October 07 from a local market.   See the pictures below of the poor state she was in when we bought her:-

Above - Armani 24 hours later

At first, we couldn't catch her.  Now, we can't get away from her!  She has been heavily in foal for what seems like forever, but finally gave birth to a chestnut tobiano filly foal at 9.00 a.m. on Saturday 10th May - to everyone's relief (including Armani no doubt!)  Her filly is called "CorleyOak Versace".

"Babybelle"

The name is in inverted commas as she doesn't really have a name yet!  Her passport said "Gina" and the vendors at the market called her "Belle"!?  She's a baby - hence the name.  She is an 8 month old bay filly and is another rescue from the same market.  Poor "Babybelle" weighed less than our miniature shetland mares when she first came to us!  We had to teach her to eat hard feed and convince her that we were not nearly as scary as we looked!  She is putting on weight slowly and steadily and is gaining in confidence day by day.

No Angel (Taz)

Taz is a 15.2 Anglo-Arab chestnut mare who sometimes lives up to the chestnut mare reputation so she's well named!  (The Taz nickname is after the Tasmanian devil!). She is highly strung and a one-woman horse.  Definitely not a horse for the faint-hearted.  However, she too is bombproof on the roads and an absolute pleasure to hack out, which is what I wanted her for!

Versace (daughter of Armani)

Versace was born at 9.00 a.m. on Saturday 10th May.  Having watched the mare (Armani) all that night and overnight for the previous three weeks, Versace was born while we were all having a cup of tea!

Versace resembled a gangly giraffe at birth, but got prettier as the weekend wore on!
