CorleyOak Stud
SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL !!
Mares

We currently have seven broodmares:-

Halstock Pacific Blue (Rabbit*)

Blue - or "Rabbit" as she is affectionately known (because of her big fluffy ears) is a 5 year old silver dun mare.  She has just been introduced to our stallion for a foal (hopefully) in 2009.

* "Rabbit's" ears are almost always pinned back, making her look grumpy when in fact she is the most loving, affectionate pony ever!  She has settled in with our herd and is fast becoming a favourite of ours.  Although she had only been broken to harness, she quickly adapted to being a ridden pony and has been out hacking with our granddaughter!

Chewvalley Daisy (Daisy)

"Daisy" is a eight year old grey mare.

sire:  Kerswell Benjamin
grandsire: Kerswell Nijinksy
ggsire: Ron of North Wells
granddam: Kerswell Elegance
ggdam: Kinlet Fairy

dam: Littleacre Buttercup
gsire: Newpark Tomahawk
ggsire: Standruff Tom Thumbgdam:Newpark Burstripe      ggdam: Newpark Royal Burr

Daisy has been running with our stallion and we are hoping for a foal in 2009.

Barns Gypsy Rose (Gypsy)

Gypsy is pictured in our garden, shortly after having a "makeover".  Being grey, she doesn't stay this clean for very long!  Gypsy has a superb temperament and is something of a favourite with us.  Gypsy had a late foal in 2007 (see Diamond on home page) so she has had a break and has just returned to our stallion for a foal in 2009.  There is no doubt that Gypsy is Sovereign's favourite.  It's a real love match!!

Below is Gypsy in the show ring.......

 Nola of Burland (Nola)

Nola moved down to the Midlands from Darlington.

We call her "Professor Nola" as she stands back and watches everything and looks as though she's thinking things through.

She has been running with our stallion and appears to be in foal.

Braywood Vanilla (Vanilla)

This lovely palomino mare is multi-tasking, having been broken to ride and drive by her previous owner, having produced two lovely filly foals (Ice - see youngsters page & Storm - see Foals 2008 page).

Vanilla produced a lovely, early foal for us.  Her filly, Champagne (Storm), was born on 11.03.08.  Vanilla has the sweetest nature and is the most gentle pony you could hope for, but at the same time she is a very protective and attentive mother.  We're very proud of her.

Talwrnisaf Clover Girl (Clover)

Clover is a lovely stamp of mare with a gorgeous, traditional shetland head and lots of presence.

Clover has just presented us with an absolutely stunning colt foal, CorleyOak Apatchy Sunrise (Apatchy). (See foals 2008 page)

Apatchy is a big, sturdy colt who can gallop like the wind at only two days old.  We're over the moon with him.  Clover is a brilliant mum and has done a wonderful job in producing him. It wasn't until we saw her galloping with her foal yesterday and then doing an elevated trot that we realised how good her movement is.  Quite a bonus!

Quaker's Comfrey

Comfrey is a lovely bay roan mare, purchased from the Helenbrie Stud in Devon.  Comfrey gave birth to a gorgeous little chestnut (possibly roan) filly on 17.04.08.

She is an absolutely fantastic mother to her little one.
