CorleyOak Stud
SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL !!
Mares

We currently have eight broodmares:-

Bowerdon Bluebell (Blue)

Silver dun

Sire: Mardlebrook Bonanza (bay)
Dam: Mardlebrook Honeybun (chestnut dun)

Blue is a very stocky young lady, with a lot of presence and terrific movement.  She has a very sweet nature and has settled down with us very quickly.

Hillash Evie (Evie)

Bay roan

Sire: New Park McDuff
Dam: Millbrook Generous (silver dun)

Evie was only four years old when we bought her and had lived on a farm all her life.  Five days after arriving at our stud, we took her to her first show where, to our delight, she came 3rd in a very competitive class under SPSBS rules.  We were very proud of her.   Although she was only young, Evie very swiftly established herself as field boss - her stocky build being an asset to her in that respect!  She is an extremely affectionate young filly.  She ran with Darwin Geronemo last summer and has been scanned in foal to him.  She looks likely to foal within the next week or so.

Barns Gypsy Rose (Gypsy)

Black base colour - greyed out

Sire: Arosfa Deg William (black tobiano/piebald)
Dam: Kinnoull Kate (grey)

Gypsy is pictured in our garden, shortly after having a "makeover".  Being grey, she doesn't stay this clean for very long!  Gypsy has a superb temperament and is something of a favourite with us.  Gypsy produced a black filly foal for us, "CorleyOak Black Diamond".  Diamond lives locally and has been doing very well in the show ring.

Nola of Burland (Nola)

Chestnut ("mushroom") skewbald/tobiano

Sire: Tic-Toc (Skewbald)
Dam: Jeanie of Burland (Skewbald)

We call her "Professor Nola" as she stands back and watches everything and looks as though she's thinking things through.

Nola ran  with our leased stallion, Allensmore Starmist all summer, but does not appear to be in foal.  However, Nola is capable of surprising us, so it's wait and see...

Collytown Charisma (Charisma)

Buckskin skewbald/buckskin tobiano

Sire: Tawna Trooper (Bay tobiano/bay skewbald)
Dam: Kirskstall Queen of the May (Palomino tobiano/lemon & white)

Charisma produced a stunning bay colt, "CorleyOak Charismatic", by Allensmore Starmist this year.  "Matt" has been sold to a showing home and will be going to his first show in late March.  Fingers crossed he will do well.

Pinglewood Sherry Baby (Sherry)

Bay

Sire: Pinglewood Puzzle (Bay tobiano/bay skewbald)
Dam: Courmille Special K (Palomino)

Sherry was purchased at the Pinglewood reduction sale on 12th September 2009, with her good friend Olivia (below).  She had been running with Pinglewood Dominic and also Stranduff Casanova.  We are still not sure whether or not she's in foal, so are just waiting to see.  Sherry is a lovely, affectionate, bright bay filly who has settled in very quickly with our herd.

Above - Sherry in her winter woollies - check out that cute face!

Pinglewood Olivia (Olivia)

Chestnut dun

Sire: Darwin Geronemo (Dun tobiano/dun skewbald)
Dam: Valleyview Eve (Bay)

Purchased at the Pinglewood reduction sale on 12th September 2009 with her friend Sherry (above), Olivia is a a lovely chestnut dun filly.  She was a little unsure of herself and not quite as friendly as Sherry, but has gained in confidence.  Olivia produced a stunning black tobiano filly, by Pinglewood Dominic in April of this year and is an excellent mother.

Pinglewood Barbie Doll (Barbie)

Tricolour skewbald/dun tobiano

Sire: Darwin Geronemo (Dun tobiano/dun skewbald)
Dam: Shoemaker Laurel (Bay)

Barbie is a lovely, stocky mare - very friendly and kind.  Barbie produced an absolutely gorgeous filly foal, by Pinglewood Dominic, in May of this year - see foals 2010 page.  Barbie is a very protective and caring mother and we love her to bits.  Her filly foal, "Cindy" is equally lovely and will be retained as we could not bear to part with her!
